The Acorn Cottage Bed & Breakfast is a charming, granite Arts and Crafts bungalow, located in Asheville, North Carolina, ½ mile from the entrance to North Carolina’s #1 tourist attraction, the Biltmore Estate. Acorn Cottage Bed & Breakfast boasts four guest rooms (click here for room pictures,  descriptions and rates), all with private baths, queen size beds, cable TV, and nightly turndown service. Refreshments are served in the Sun Room each afternoon and can range from fabulous chocolate chip cookies or double chocolate brownies with pink lemonade in the summer, to hot Russian or Apple-Cinnamon tea with melt in your mouth oatmeal cookies in front of a roaring fire in the fall or winter. A delightful morning meal is served in the Dining Room overlooking the famed Biltmore Estate and a view of Mt.  Pisgah, a landmark in the Blue Ridge Mountain range.

From I-40, take the Biltmore Estate exit to Hwy 25N and stay in the far right lane. Follow Hendersonville Road/Biltmore Avenue 1 ¼ mile. Look for the Residence Inn hotel on your left. St. Dunstan’s Rd will be the first street on the left past the hotel. Follow St.  Dunston’s Road 3 blocks. You will round a large curve, and directly in front of you will be a sign “Parking for Acorn Cottage”. To the left of the sign, follow the wooded gravel driveway to the parking area 1 level below the house. Take the stairs from the parking area to the entrance of the house.
Alternate Route: From I-40, take the Biltmore Estate exit to Hwy 25N.  Stay in the left lane, and follow 25N past the entrance to the Biltmore, and across the bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right onto St. Dunstan’s Rd.  Follow the road to the top of the hill. The first street will be St.  Dunstan’s Circle. Make a sharp turn to the right, and follow the grave driveway to the parking area, which is 1 level below the house. Take the stairs from the parking area up to the entrance of the house.
